East Africa Christian College (EACC) exists to train world-class Christian leaders. We help develop men and women into effective leaders who can make a positive difference in their churches, communities and countries. EACC seeks to prepare the leader’s heart—who the leader is on the inside, how the leader understands and relates to God, and how the leader can walk in integrity—as well as the leader’s hands, which are the practical expressions of ministry and leadership.
EACC is based in Tarime, Tanzania (Mara Region) near the Tanzania-Kenya boarder. Classes are held in Tarime but in the future we plan to offer classes at other locations.
Courses are one week long (five full days) of in-class instruction plus readings, homework assignments, and practical activities that take place outside of class. Some courses will have pre-class work that the student is expected to complete prior to the first day of class. Some will have work to be done during evenings of the instruction week, and some will have post-class work that will need to be completed before a final grade is received. Students are expected to complete the course over a 60-day period.
Courses are taught by academically qualified teachers who also have extensive practical experience. These include visiting professors from across Tanzania, Kenya, the United States and other countries. Courses are designed to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential to good leadership.
Certificate in Christian Leadership
The Certificate in Christian Leadership is a one-year program (12 classes) designed to introduce basic knowledge and ministry skills that students can build upon in further education or in service to society. Successful completion of the program allows for enrollment in the Diploma Program if the student has the required language skills.
Diploma in Christian Leadership
The Diploma in Christian Leadership is a three-year post-secondary program (36 classes) designed to prepare people for Christian ministry. Individuals without a secondary education may enter the program upon the successful completion of the Certificate in Christian Leadership Program and demonstrated proficiency in English.
East Africa Christian College (EACC) is a non-denominational Christian college based in Tarime, Tanzania, East Africa. EACC was founded by seven Tanzanian pastors from four Christian denominations and the leadership of MaxPoint Missions, a United States international community and leadership development organization.
EACC is governed by an independent board of directors that is appointed by EACC participating churches.
Develop Christian leaders who can positively transform society.
“And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.”-- Psalm 78:72
In fulfilling its objective, the College is focused on developing Christian men and women into effective leaders who can make a positive difference in their churches, community and country. Effective leaders can be described two ways: effective leaders are and effective leaders do. Effective leaders possess certain personality traits, attributes, values, knowledge, disciplines, and so forth. They are certain things. Just being, however, is not enough. Leaders take action. Effective leaders also exhibit certain behaviors as they complete tasks, relate to people, and encourage change.
The Bible tells us that Israel’s most successful leader, King David, guided Israel with integrity and skillful hands. He had something (integrity) and he did something (led with skillfulness). It is the belief that ministry education and training should equip leaders to be and do in order to be effective in their ministries.
The curriculum for the College is designed to prepare the leader’s heart—who the leader is on the inside, how the leader understands and relates to God, and how the leader can walk in integrity—as well as the leader’s hands, which is the practical expressions of ministry and leadership. The goal is to assist in the development of leaders who have the internal and external skills necessary to transform the world around them for God’s glory.
East Africa Christian College (EACC) believes that the Holy Bible is the Word of God, without any error in its original manuscripts, and that “all scriptures are inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
EACC believes that our God is one, wholly the creator of all human beings, birds, animals, fish, oceans, seas, the land, mountains, streams of water, rivers and all things above and under the universe. EACC believes that God revealed Himself as God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Mark 12:29, Deuteronomy 6:4-5 and Genesis 1:1-2:3.
EACC believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, and the great purpose of His coming to the earth was to die on the cross on our behalf for the penalty of our sins. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him” John 3:16-17.
EACC believes that the crucifixion, death, the burial, the empty tomb, and the appearances after His death attests to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. John 19:17-22, 38-42 then 20:1-30, and Mark 16:1-8.
EACC believes that mankind is in need of salvation from sin and that the salvation from sin can only be found by placing one’s faith in Jesus Christ and accepting His death, burial and resurrection as the completed work which secures that salvation. We believe that salvation from sin is by God’s grace alone through faith alone and not by any works of mankind. Ephesians 4:8-9 and 1 Corinthians 15:1-8.
EACC believes the Great Commission of “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you, I am with you always, to the close of the age” Mathew 28:19-2
